UFC 290 Main Card Lineup Announced: Two Title Fights Headline Stacked Event
The UFC 290 main card lineup has been officially announced for the upcoming event. Taking place on July 8 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the card features two title fights as the main and co-main events. The main event will see UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski facing interim champion Yair Rodriguez in a unification match. Volkanovski aims to defend his title for the fifth time after a recent failed attempt to become a two-division champion. Rodriguez earned the interim title with a submission victory over Josh Emmett. In the co-main event, flyweight champion Brandon Moreno will defend his belt in a rematch against Alexandre Pantoja. Moreno has previously lost twice to Pantoja, once in a 2016 exhibition and again in a 2018 UFC bout. The main card lineup also includes a No. 1 contender's match between former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker and rising contender Dricus Du Plessis, a lightweight bout featuring Jalin Turner and Dan Hooker, and a middleweight fight between Bo Nickael and Tresean Gore.
